New Common Links to BEB

Hey guys...you know how we're always searching for "common links to BEB"????? Well, have I got some for you....How about these:

I met a new person on the BB this past week:

1) She lives in the SAME HOME TOWN as me.

2) She shares retirement from the SAME PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT.

3) We KNEW EACH OTHER FROM WORK CONTACT.

4) and, we're NOT related, BUT...SHE HAS THE SAME LAST NAME AS ME.



I'm sure this is only some crazy coincidence, but boy, it sure makes me wonder....?????

Welcome to the BB, Barbara...Hope you don't mind me sharing this with the others. I couldn't resist.

Yeah, that's a coincidence, all right. Not enough to prove anything, but it's interesting.

I have a connection that is similar: a woman who lives about an hour away who was actually in our wedding party 40 years ago. She and my wife have been friends for about 50 years. She developed BEB somewhat later than I but got her diagnosis sooner, and was involved with Dr. Scott in early Botox trials. We only learned of her condition about 10 years ago, while we were living 3000 miles apart. Now when I get my shots the three of us enjoy lunch together, since she lives a few minutes away from my neuro-op.

I was attending one of our local support group meetings a couple of years ago and ran into someone who has volunteered at the Garden where I do. I'm sure it's coincidence, too, but it's strange to find someone you know with this condition when it is so rare.

Beb isn't so rare, Virginia. I understand (from statistics) that its as prevalent as Lou Gehrig's and MS - just not the same awareness. That's how I understand it anyway. But you are right - meeting someone on common ground is a coincidence.
