Does Dr. Anderson's office still require that you send a field of vision and photographs of your eyes at their worst? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand they are needed for insurance purposes. A friend of mine (also with BEB) asked me that question and I just wanted to have a current reply for her.

THANKS!

Cynthia in IL where is it COLD (brrrrrr!)

Hi Cynthia, I'm not recent but I do have an opinion. :-)

I just had to send in photographs. I don't believe that they even asked me for a field of vision test. I wouldn't have been able to supply one if they had. My local eye doctor had been unable to obtain one on me since my Blepharospasm began. You have to be able to keep your eyes open to get accurate results for the field of vision-and I no could do. Dr. Anderson's office did one on me when I went for my pre-op visit. They were quite adept at assisting with the test so that results could be obtained. They are quite knowledgable about our difficulties with testing and knew exactly what to do. My local doctors just give up and note that I couldn't be tested.

So if those specific tests are needed for insurance purposes, Dr. A's office will be able to do them on a pre-op visit.

Hi Cynthia, I just had a myectomy done by Dr. Anderson in December and I think I somehow got dropped through the cracks in his office, maybe because I got an appointment so quickly before Christmas. But I was not sent a packet from his office that I've heard others say they received. So, I just arrived there and they had to work through my return flight home and the surgery. He doesn't like to do both eyes the same day, but I had to because his next day surgery was full. I didn't take photos, they took ooodles of them there, I don't think any that I would have taken would have been sufficient. My local opthalmalogist took photos before my surgery here for insurance purposes. I'm like Shirley, they had a hard time with the field vision test. They were so patient as you have to stop and start and wait to see if the eyes will open and grab it while they can. Hope this helps - Patti in SC

Thank you, Shirley and Patti, for your replies. It confirms my thoughts that Dr. A's office is very accommodating to just about any situation.

THANKS!
