Hi, I'm Linda and this is my third attempt to enter my first letter to this site.I'm 56,married and have two grown daughters.

I worked as a dental hygienist for 32 years. I was daiagnosed with blepharospasm almost 3 years ago.I had to leave work 10 months ago as the dystonia progressed.

I am trying to use my computer and have great difficulty looking at the screen. I have no problem looking at the keyboard. Does anyone know of a type of dropped desk or other configuration where you're looking down rather than straight out?

Thank you,

Linda

I gave an incorrect e-mail address. It is lindaoverton11@aol.com

Hi Linda and welcome to the beb bb, but sorry to hear you have this dis-ease. Third time lucky in posting - I know its not easy computing with beb. I can't look at a moving computer screen either and have a built-in desk that I have to look straight at and find it difficult, but I know others have lower configurations and might be able to recommend something for you. This topic was discussed recently but I'm not sure if it was under a special topic or just a passing comment or two.

I was diagnosed with beb 8 years ago and had to leave my position at a university because I couldn't cope anymore. I get botox injections (90 units) every 3-4 months, have side effects that last a month, but am able to cope reasonably well inbetween treatments. How are you coping? Please share with us if you feel comfortable doing so, we care.

June in Toronto

Linda, I have been diagnosed with BEB since Oct. 2001. I prefer to have my chair at the highest setting. I didn't make the connection with BEB until just recently. It is just more comfortable.

Please feel free to share your story with the BB. This is a great group that can truly relate to the difficulties that we all share in some form or another.

Jackie in Colorado where there was actually a very small sprinkling of rain last night. Is this truly January in Colorado????
