Hi all! In February's issue of Boston Magazine (Massachusetts) there is an article on Botox for cosmetic (of course!) purposes and other quick fixes to look younger and less wrinkled. It really got my gander up since NO mention was made of the use of Botox for medical necessity. It was all about Botox Parties and even the use of Botox to prevent underarm perspiration! So I sat down and e-mailed a letter to the editor outlining the more important (and obviously less known) uses of Botox. I explained my diagnosis of tardive dyskinesia and blepharospasm. And guess what? Boston Magazine's editor called me and asked my permission to print my letter in next month's issue! I was really excited and pleased that I could bring some focus on the plight of those of us who rely on Botox to simply be able to keep our eyes open to see! Let me know if anyone is interested in reading my letter to the editor and I will post it after it is published. You probably can read the original article on bostonmagazine.com Maybe, now a least a few will be enlightened. Dear Margo,
I'm so glad you took the time to e-mail the editor of the Boston magazine to further enlighten him as to the NECESSARY application of botox.
I think any blepharospasm patient would appreciate seeing the response posted.

Yes Margo, I'd love to read your letter. I too have been a bit peeved, the cosmetic end of Botox seems to get all of the publicity. I guess it's more important to be beautiful than to be able to see and function.
