Hi,
After waiting for just under 2 months I finally saw Dr Hedge at New England Medical Center on Wed. He was great. I can't say enough about his manner, so comforting. And, very willing to cut back my units, even if he wasn't completely sure about the side effects I report. Seems he hadn't heard of flu symptoms or face pain as a result of injections. But to his credit he did look it up...and there it was! The way the stats were broken down, it seems insignificant, but at least Dr Hedge acknowledged the possiblity. Dr Hedge gave me 17.5 units, down from 25 units. He spread them out to cover more of my cheeks and brow area, along with my lids. (My injections before were strictly to my lids.) I've increase my Neurontin to 600 mgs and I'm taking 8 mgs of Zanaflex a day to try to offset the facial pain and spasms. If I get through with out a flare up - then I'll try to increase the Botox again. I hope everyone is well. Take care, Denise PS - It's been awhile since I posted, I've been in a funk over the return of my BEB. I do read the board, but didn't feel I had much to say. Today I do, I guess I just want to re-emphasize, something that is said often on the board - that shopping for a Dr. you're comfortable with is very, very important. It's a major lesson to learn in managing your health. --modified by denise mckew at Fri, Jan 31, 2003, 16:31:38 Modified by at Fri, Jan 31, 2003, 16:31:38 |
