I stopped 10 mg Celexa a few weeks ago and my bleph is worse - has anyone had experience with Celexa - any reaction to being on it, and to going off? I do very well with Botox - actually it's been 10 months since I've had an eye injection - I assume the Celexa was helping me go that long, and I probably shouldn't have gone off it....Thanks |

JOANP, I AM SORRY, BUT SOMEWHERE IN THE BEB OR THE DYSTONIA SITE THEY LIST MEDS. THAT ARE GOOD FOR BEB, THEY ALSO LIST DRUGS THAT MAKE IT WORSE. MY MEDICAL DR. WANTED ME TO USE CELEXA ALONG WITH ZANEX. MY NEURO GUY SAYS NO WAY, I NEVER TOOK ANYTHING BUT THE ZANEX, HE MADE ME QUIT. HE TOLD ME THE KLONAPIN OR THE GENERIC WHICH IS APPROVED BY MY NEURO CLONAZEPAM WILL DO THE SAME THING AS THE CELEXA AND ZANEX. I GOT OFF THE ZANEX, NEVER STARTED THE CELEXA. I CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE THOSE DRUGS DID MAKE MY BEB/MEIGE WORSE. TELL YOU DOCTOR THAT YOU WANT TO CHANGE TO KLONAPIN/CLONAZEPAM. I HOPE THIS WILL HELP, IT DID FOR ME. STEVE

I,oo, take celexa. I started taking it about the same time I started BEB. I was taking Effexor but thought it caused the dry eyes. I'm going to look into Klonapin. Thanks, Jean in Ny

There are many drugs that in some individuals can cause dystonia (BEB is a focal dystonia).
Below is a link where you can find information regarding this:Some of the newer antidepressants can also cause symptoms of BEB. They can also make the symptoms worse if you have BEB or they can sometimes make the symptoms better.
Discuss it with your physician and get his advice on this.Shirley in Arkansas
