Since late Monday morning, I have been suffering with pain in my neck. The muscles on the right side of my neck are spasming and I can feel a small lump or knot in the same area as my lymph node. The pain is so extreme that it is hard to move my neck and even hard to speak. I couldn't sleep for most of the night since I couldn't find a comfortable position. I ended up going to Urgent Care/ER on Tuesday afternoon. The doctor that checked me (Knows Nothing about Meige) said it appeared to be a swollen lymph gland and then called in another doctor to confirm his diagnosis, which she did, and then they sent me home with no antibiotics saying it would go away in a couple of days. That night I was still in extreme pain, I was not able to speak and still unable to sleep. My wife called my primary care doctor the next evening, since I couldn't stand it any longer, and he prescribed an antibiotic for me. I'm feeling somewhat better, since I was finally able to find a position (my head turned to the left) that I could be somewhat comfortable in and be able to speak. I am wondering is this just my meige combined with the swollen lymph gland that is causing the problem or could it be that it has moved down to my throat/neck. Its not on the inside of my throat, but appears to be the muscles on the outside. I'm also wondering if anyone else has gone through this. I have been running a low grade fever the past few days, which has me worried since my myectomy surgery is Tuesday, July 1st. Would this cause them to postpone the surgery? Another odd thing is that for 1 day, while my meige/dystonia seemed the worst in my throat, my eyes were complete relaxed and open. I'd appreciate hearing about any similiar situations. Thanks. Hi Rolando, so sorry to hear you have these added complications, especially as you have your myectomy surgery in 2 days - what a horrible thing to have happened. I can't answer your questions as have never experienced this. I would suggest you post your comments on the Dystonia bb as you experienced your head turning to the left, this might be Dystonia (Cervical Torticollis). You may not have time to do this before your surgery and I can only say a prayer for you that everything will turn out fine. God Bless June in Toronto

Thank You June ,We are off to The Mayo Clinic in ScotttsDale Phoenix AZ. My surgery is tomorrow . Still Have abit of a swollen gland and taking antiboitic God willing it will all be cleared up by tomorrow .. My 3 children will be staying at my parents at the Ranch..
