Does anybody have any suggestions for treating dry eyes? I have 4 punctal plugs which help a great deal, but I find that my eyes still dry out by late afternoon/early evening. I use ointment at night, which also helps a lot. This will be my first winter with dry eyes/BEB, and I am wondering if a humidifier in the bedroom would help. I am also taking some oral gelcaps for dry eyes which I found at the supermarket in the aisle with all of the eye drops, etc. but I don't seem to notice much difference, and I've been taking them for several months now. Is there something else I could be doing that you "old pros" know about? Thanks! |

I have a wet spray humidifier in the bedroom, use cream and a mask at night, don't have punctual plugs and find the winter months the worst for dry eyes. I have to use gels very often during the day (use more drops in the summer months) as well and don't like the blurred vision from it, but have no choice. I got dry spots on my corneas last winter and had to see the ophthalmologist every 2 weeks using this regime until it got better - it did. Hope yours get better.June in Toronto

I'm the same. Winter is the worst for me. The best place for me is Mexico. As soon as I step off the plane I notice a diffenence. My problem is I can't quite convince hubby!I also have a virus on the eye due to constant dryness. It seems to be in remission at the moment.

Nice to have you posting again Catherine. I can't even get my hubby to vacation in Mexico at all - he won't go because of the `unrest there'. I've been a couple of times (before his time) and enjoyed it. I see you are coming to Collingwood in the near future. There are some good doctors giving botox in Toronto - if you can't find any that are closer. Take care.June in Toronto
